Cockerham Island
I am fortunate to live in Washington State's Skagit Valley, one of the most beautiful places on earth. Cockerham Island lies a short distance from my home. I photograph there year round and always come away with marvelous images.
This particular November day broke with beautiful fall sunshine bathing the land in a special soft golden light. This scene caught my eye, I knew there was visual gold here and it proved to be so.
Then I looked down at the earth and saw hundreds of new red potatoes left behind by the mechanical harvester. Not only did I come away with a fabulous image, I also brought home a big sack of fresh spuds. Now, that is a really good day.
